Stephanie Buxhoeveden, MSN, FNP-C, MSCN

Stephanie is a native of Fairfax, Virginia and graduated with her Bachelors in the Science of Nursing (BSN) from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. While attending college she worked as an EMT for the local ambulance company. Her post graduate employment included three years as a Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Georgetown University Hospital in D.C. and two years as a travel nurse where she specialized in the care of critically ill patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions. She earned her certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) during this time. She later graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Masters in the Science of Nursing (MSN) from Rutgers University. While in graduate school she worked at St. Barnabas’ Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center in New Jersey, and obtained her certification as a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse (MSCN). She is currently an active member of the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurses (IOMSCN) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She serves as a District Activist Leader for the National MS Society, is on the Membership Committee for iConquerMS, and writes for numerous multiple sclerosis publications.

Stephanie’s clinical interests and expertise include the management and care of people with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Epilepsy, headaches, tremors, and neuropathy. She is certified to administer therapeutic Botox injections for migraine headaches and perform Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS) programming for movement disorders.

Stephanie resides in Richmond with her husband.
