Arnold J. Aguilera, M.D.

Dr. Arnold Aguilera graduated from Harvard University, magna cum laude, and the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed his internship at the University of Rochester, his neurology residency at the University of New Mexico, and his neuromuscular diseases fellowship at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Aguilera held faculty positions at the University of New Mexico and the University of Colorado. He practiced neurology in Denver, CO, and LaCrosse, WI, and was Director of the MDA Neuromuscular Diseases Clinics at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania prior to moving to Fredericksburg in 1993. He practiced in Richmond prior to joining Neurology Associates of Fredericksburg in 2001.

He is board certified in Neurology and in Clinical Neurophysiology. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine and is also a member of the Virginia Medical Society and Frederidcksburg Area Medical Society. He has contributed multiple articles and abstracts to the medical literature. His major interests are muscle diseases, peripheral polyneuropathies (diseases of the nerves in the limbs), entrapment neuropathies and electromyography (EMG/NCV).

Dr. Aguilera also has a strong interest in the application of Botox therapy to neurological conditions including migraine headaches, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, cervical dystonia, spasticity and others. Dr. Aguilera is married with one son.
